As per the Indian Law, the 'Consumer Protection Act 1986', the government has made a Consumer Redressal Forum to protect the rights of the consumer. If a consumer is not satisfied with the goods and services he has been sold through a testimonial or a brand then he is entitled to seek his redressal at this Indian Consumer Forum. This Forum also keeps a check to maintain fair trade practices by the sellers. Consumer forums India have three levels to escalate your grievances..

  • District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum
    (Cases with compensation sought is less than 20 lakhs)

  • State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission
    (Cases with compensation sought is between 20 lakhs and 1 crore)

  • National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission
    (Cases with compensation sought is more than 1 crore)

In case of not getting satisfied with the verdict of the District Forum, a consumer can appeal within 30 days to the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission and if the verdict of State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission is also not satisfactory then the consumer can make an appeal to the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission within a period of 30 days.
