Finally a decision is taken by NGT against the diesel vehicles which are older than 10 years, that they are banned to ply in Delhi and the National Capital Region.
There was an appeal filled by lawyer Vishal Shripati Jogdand against this ban. As per him the vehicle should be banned on a fitness test but not by its age. It should be allowed to ply if the vehicle pass the fitness test despite of its age older than 10 years.
It has been pointed out by the court that this is not the first time when these kind of diesel vehicles are going to be banned for plying in the city. They have been sought to be taken off roads because of a major reason. Earlier this kind of order was also passed by the bench of Andhra Pradesh High Court to ban the vehicles which are older than 15 years. Now the National Green Tribunal has passed the orders on the line of what had already been held valid by the constitutional Courts.
